Shipping and delivery
At Dachshund World, we take pride in finding the highest quality and healthiest puppies. We treat each puppy as a member of our family, caring for them as if they were coming to our own home. While we understand your eagerness to bring your puppy home, we must adhere to your state’s regulations. These rules are designed to ensure the safety and well-being of your new puppy.
HOW SOON CAN I GET MY PUPPY?
Different countries have varying rules regarding the age at which a puppy can enter. At Dachshund World, we believe puppies should remain with their littermates and under the watchful care of the breeder until they are at least 10 weeks old. Even after weaning, puppies are still very young and lack a fully developed immune system to combat diseases like Parvo or Coronavirus. Most countries have vaccination requirements, particularly for Rabies, which should not be administered until at least 12 weeks of age. Additionally, many countries require a one-month wait after the rabies vaccine, meaning a puppy can be imported only after reaching about 4 months old. This timeline allows the puppy to begin building its own antibodies for protection against diseases.
SHIPPING
There are four ways to bring your new puppy (family member) home:
Pick-Up By Car
You are always welcome to drive to our location to pick up your new puppy after making a reservation deposit. We encourage personal pickups, whether by car or plane, but we understand that this may not always be feasible.
Pick-Up By Airlines
If you prefer to fly to pick up your puppy, we can meet you at the ticket counter with your new puppy after you make the reservation deposit. Alternatively, we can pick you up at the airport and bring you to our home for the puppy pickup. For those with frequent flyer miles, this could be the most economical option. The airlines may charge a small additional fee for this service.
Ship By Airlines
We offer shipping to all destinations. Shipping charges vary based on location and include airfare, the puppy’s shipping crate (pet taxi), a veterinarian’s health certificate, and a puppy care packet. The care packet contains a bag of the puppy food they are used to, along with puppy care information. Delivery is typically a counter-to-counter service, and puppies travel in a pressurized, temperature-controlled compartment.
Ship By Specialized Ground Service
You also have the option to have your puppy delivered right to your doorstep using a pet transport service that covers all areas on the continent. The cost for this service varies depending on distance and location, but it is the most convenient option. The transport agency employs trained professionals who ensure the puppy is well cared for during the delivery.
